I would LOVE to be organised! We live in a small workers’ cottage and with 4 of us now, space (not to mention time) is at a premium. You’ve inspired me to give it another go! Keep the tips coming I’m sure I’ll need the inspiration and motivation.

Oh I wish you could come to my house … I lack the organisation gene.
I am constantly battling to find home for this, and I hate clutter. I HAVE been de-cluttering by giving stuff away, and the kids also had a garage sale … got rid of a lot of their toys and used the money to buy one small one they both really wanted. I am getting better though … like you I’ve starting using other things to store stuff in, and also replacing stuff that breaks … like crockery etc … with the stuff I’ve been saving for ‘good’. I’m enjoying that.

Oh Felicity! Are you SURE you’re not talking about me! I was chatting to my sister the other day and saying “I’m not ORGANISED but I’m not.”

I look around me and everyone seems, well, so sorted, except for me.

This will give you an indication of how I’m a flippin’ shocker: In the last 2 weeks I’ve run out of petrol THREE TIMES!!! No joke. My husband has now purchased a can of petrol to keep here at home — ah — for the next time. I’m just glad he has a sense of humour.

Am too, the same. Sam, the 8yo didn’t bring home a reader for homework for the first 3 months of the year. A more “on to it” Mum would have found out why.

It wasn’t until I got the note home saying we owe $12.16 for LAST YEARS home readers that were never returned, did I found out why.

I paid the money. Those books did eventually turn up. When I sorted out a bagload of shit I had put aside to “sort out later”.

Perhaps it means we are genius’s Felicity? Much more preferable to the unorganised mess I clearly am
